Welcome to the official website of the City of Hinesville, Georgia. Hinesville is a progressive and pro-business community that welcomes all.

The City of Hinesville is the county seat and largest city in Liberty County. With a population of over 30,000, Hinesville is also one of the fastest growing cities in the State of Georgia in both size and population. Hinesville is the proud home of the 3rd Infantry Division and Fort Stewart with which it shares a special relationship of mutual cooperation. The presence of the active military installation has contributed significantly to the growth of the area. The military installation occupies nearly half of the County's 519 square miles and is the largest employer in the County.

City of Excellence!

In 2004, Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) recognized the City of Hinesville as a “City of Excellence.” The purpose of this award is to recognize Georgia’s best managed and most livable cities. Even with the flourishing growth, Hinesville and Liberty County still retains that small town atmosphere where newcomers and long-time residents work hand-in-hand to achieve a better community. Hinesville has worked hard to improve the quality of life in communities.
