About Sanitation Services

The Sanitation Department is committed and dedicated to serving the citizens of Hinesville. The mission of the Department is to remove curbside refuse for City residents and to ensure that all litter and debris are removed from City streets, lanes, and rights of way.

Roll-out cart services are provided by the City. This includes one numbered 90-gallon roll-out cart, once a week pick-up service and repair or replacement of damaged roll-out carts. Requirements for curbside collection is established in Code of Ordinance No. 2013-06.

The City collects and composts leaves and other yard debris and then offers this compost free of charge to all City residents. Learn more about mulching
 


Household Garbage

Every residential household and some commercial customers are provided rollout containers (polycarts) for garbage disposal. Containers should be placed curbside by 6 a.m. on collection day.

Yard debris (limbs, leaves, shrubbery, grass clippings, etc.) is collected on the same day and should be placed near the curb or the edge of the road, free of other trash.

Bulk trash (household furniture, appliances, etc.) are collected on the same day as garbage.


Collection Times

All garbage, trash, recyclables, yard trimmings, furniture, and appliances for collection must be placed along the edge of the street by 6 a.m. on collection day. Please separate yard trimmings from regular household garbage. Collection times will vary according to many conditions, but in no event will a collection truck arrive before 6 a.m. View the sanitation schedule to find your collection day.

Normal scheduled refuse will be picked up on all holidays.
