2017 Annual Action Plan
City of Hinesville



The City of Hinesville will hold a public meeting Thursday, June 29, 2017, at 6:00PM in the Council Chamber at City Hall. The purpose of this meeting is to develop the 2017 Annual Action Plan as required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development for continuation of funding under the Community Development Block Grant. This Plan will describe specific projects and activities the City will undertake to address the priority needs as identified in its 5-year Consolidated Plan covering years 2014-2018.

The City is seeking the public’s input regarding funding priorities as outlined in the Consolidated Plan. Worthy projects previously funded under this grant include the Azalea Street Redevelopment Project, Irene B. Thomas Park renovation, Owner Occupied Rehabilitation Program, Public Services Agencies, Fair Housing Initiative, among others.

Residents of Hinesville are strongly encouraged to attend the public meeting on June 29, 2017, to provide input on these important issues for the City. For those unable to attend the meeting, the Annual Action Plan will be available for public review and comment between June 12, 2017 and July 12, 2017. Citizens may review this document in the Community Development Department, 2nd floor of City Hall (115 East M.L. King Jr. Drive, Hinesville, Georgia 31313), Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

In 2004, the City of Hinesville received designation as an Entitlement Community, eligible to receive Community Development Block Grant funding directly from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Every five years, the City files a Consolidated Plan outlining funding priorities that will work to address identified needs throughout the community over the same time period. Annually, the City files an Annual Action Plan that describes specific projects and activities the City will undertake to address the priority needs as identified in its 5-year Consolidated Plan.

Residents of Hinesville are strongly encouraged to participate in this process by reviewing and/or commenting on the proposed Annual Action Plan. The 2017 Annual Action Plan will be available for a 30 day public review and comment period between June 12, 2017 and July 12, 2017. Citizens may review this document in the Community Development Department, 2nd floor of City Hall (115 East M.L. King Jr. Drive, Hinesville, Georgia 31313), Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM.
