State & Local Highway Safety Program
These funds are used to address highway safety problems in program areas such as alcohol countermeasures, occupant protection (seat belts & child safety seats), 55/65 MPH speed enforcement, motor vehicle accident records, pedestrian safety, motorcycle safety, pupil transportation, EMS , and traffic engineering. |

Community Home Investment Program
This program is designed to expand the supply of decent, safe, sanitary, and affordable housing for persons of low and moderate income through active participation of states, units of general local government, non-profits, and the private sector.
Next Step Program
The Next Step Program provides temporary rental assistance and supportive services to homeless individuals and families in an effort to help such persons signifcantly enhance their ability to live independent of private and public forms of financial assistance and move towards a self sufficient lifestyle.
Home Buyer Program
The Home Buyer Program provides qualified home buyers in Georgia with a low-interest rate first mortgage loan. This program is a 30-year fixed rate loan that is originated under FHA, VA, conventional, or USDA/Rural Development guidelines.
Own Home Program
This program provides qualified first-time home buyers with down payment and closing costs assistance as a delayed repayment second mortgage loan. There is a required borrow contribution based on the sales price of the home.
Community Development Block Grant
CDBG grant programs can assist in a wide range of eligible activities, including housing improvement projects, public facilities such as water and sewer lines, buildings such as local health centers or headstart centers, and economic development projects.
Revolving Loan Fund
If your rental unit is in need of repair (electrical, HVAC, plumbing, etc.), the City of Hinesville provides special loan funds for rental property owners. The Revolving Loan Funds allows qualified Hinesville rental property owners to improve and repair their rental unit(s) at a low percent interest rate. |

COPS in Schools (Community Oriented Policing Services in Schools) place entry-level police officers in primary or secondary schools for crime reduction and public safety improvement.
Local Law Enforcement Block Grant
These grant funds are provided by the U.S. Department of Justice. They are available for the purposes of obtaining equipment directly related to basic law enforcement functions.
GREAT Program
The Gang Resistance Education and Training Program is designed to help children set goals for themselves, resist pressures, learn to resolve conflicts without violence, and understand how gangs and youth violence impact the quality of their lives.
School Resource Officer Program
The School Resource Officer Program funds are utilized to provide a safe and proactive learning environment on the school campuses in this jurisdiction whereby the student body, instructional staff, and the public and school administrators will be able to operate in an environment conductive to learning and free of violence and crime. |
