The combined efforts of our Community Development Department along with Ft. Stewart and other local agencies make it possible for our community to be one of the best.

• Community Development has the duty and responsibility of administering the grant funds awarded by the federal, state or local government. These grant funds are in the areas of economic development, highway safety, housing, emergency management, law enforcement, and other programs.

• The Director of the Community Development Department supervises the operation of all grant programs for which the City of Hinesville is a recipient or guarantor. Additionally, the director maintains the financial records, reports, and other documents concerning the grant programs. The Director then prepares progress reports on grant program activities and conveys the information to the federal, state and local agencies and local elected officials.
