Burn Permits (Residential)

Obtaining a Burn Permit

Burning yard debris in the city limits of Hinesville requires that a Burn Permit be obtained from the Fire Department on the day you intend to burn.  To obtain a permit you must come to the fire station at 103 Liberty St .  It is best to call first, since weather or dry conditions can preclude issuance.  Call (912) 876-4143 during normal business hours on the day you intend to burn to determine if permits are being issued.

Permits are issued to burn only natural items like pine straw, limbs, leaves and grass that has been cut and in a small pile.
