Fire Code Inspections
|
Fire prevention inspections are the single most important non-firefighting activity performed by the fire service. Inspections are conducted for code compliance, and follow-up inspections are conducted to ensure noted violations have been corrected. A plan review is required before any new construction may begin. |
Fire Investigations |
The Hinesville Fire Department conducts cause and origin investigations on all fires occurring inside the city limits of Hinesville. Currently, the department has 3 investigators. |
Hazardous Materials Operations |
In the event of a hazardous materials spill or release, the Hinesville Fire Department, with 21 Certified Hazardous Material Technicians, will respond and evaluate the scene. The Department assists a hazardous materials team from Ft. Stewart Fire and Emergency Services in controlling and mitigating the incident.

Medical First Responder |
Medical First Responder calls are to aid the sick or injured. We provide basic life support and first aid until an ambulance can arrive. We also carry AED's (Automated External Defibrillators), which can help in restarting a heartbeat to a normal rhythm after a severe heart attack. |
Vehicle Extrication |
The Hinesville Fire Department maintains a rescue truck equipped with the "Jaws of Life" hydraulic tool which is used to free trapped people in vehicle wrecks or other types of accidents. The truck also carries numerous other items for heavy rescue, such as air bags for heavy lifting, chains, pulleys, crow bars, cribbing and more. |
