The Patrol Division is responsible for:

• Initial response to all calls for service
• Preserving crime scenes
• Conducting preliminary and misdemeanor investigations
• Making arrests where probable cause exists

Patrol Organization

• Three shifts, each with a lieutenant, a sergeant, a corporal and 8-11 patrol officers
• Community Policing Unit
• School Officers
• Accident Investigation Unit
• Neighborhood Watch
• Community Oriented Policing
• Warrants Section

The community policing unit specializes in implementing proactive police procedures:

• Crime suppression
• Crime prevention
• Crime prevention education
• Initiatives designed to improve the relationship between the police department and the public
