Accident Investigation Services
The traffic accident investigator will:
- Inform you where your vehicle will be located if it has to be removed from the scene
- Confirm that the driver who has the contributing factor in your accident is properly insured according to the laws of this state. If not, you will be notified immediately and informed of what action to take against the other driver.
If requested, the traffic accident investigator will:
- Try to locate a family member or friend to come to the scene for support or transportation
- Assist you in contacting your insurance company or the other party's insurance
Accident reports will be ready for pick-up within three (3) business days of your accident. If further investigation is required, you will be notified.
A traffic officer will investigate all Hit & Run accidents reported to this agency. Hit and Runs may involve someone leaving the scene of an accident after striking a parked vehicle, a vehicle in motion, or fixed personal property. You will have full access to the investigator assigned your case and be informed of progress in the investigation.
