Police Programs and Services

The Hinesville Police Department provides a variety of programs and services designed to prevent crime. Our efforts in this area are successful only through community participation. Project ChildSafe SM

The Hinesville Police Department will provide 500 free firearm safety kits to local residents through a partnership with Project ChildSafe, the nationwide firearms safety education program. The safety kits, which include a gun lock, and will be distributed at the police department free of charge.

D.A.R.E. & G.R.E.A.T.

The D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) program is taught to 5th Graders in all the schools. The program teaches children about the dangers of drugs, alcohol and tobacco. D.A.R.E. also helps kids learn about peer pressure and self-esteem. It instructs how to make good choices and avoid violence.

The G.R.E.A.T. program is taught to all 7th graders. This has a strong anti-gang and violence message.

Bicycle Registration

Help protect your property by registering your bicycle. Persons living in the City of Hinesville may register their bicycles with the Police Department. To do so, phone us at (912) 368-8211 or e-mail the Administrative Services Division .
