System is permitted to withdraw 4.0 million gallons per day on an annual daily average and 4.5 million gallons per day monthly daily average.

  • Treated water is stored in six elevated storage tanks with a total capacity of 4.7 million gallons.
  • Water is treated with chlorine gas and fluoride.

Lab

  • The water lab is certified by the State of Georgia for microbiological testing.
  • Lab test samples are received from 32 sites located throughout the water system each month to be tested for coliform bacteria.

Sewer System

Wastewater Collection

  • Pumping stations are maintained on a daily basis to ensure the best service possible to our customers.

Treatment

  • Treatment is done at the Wastewater Treatment Plant located at Fort Stewart .
  • The plant is designed to treat up to 7.15 million gallons of wastewater per day.
  • The treatment plant is operated so that it meets standards specified by the State of Georgia 's Environmental Protection Division.

Inflow & Infiltration

  • The Inflow & Infiltration program surveys the sewer collection for areas where surface waters such as rain can enter the system.
  • By identifying and repairing these areas, the program can eliminate this type of water from having to go through the Wastewater Treatment Plant unnecessarily, thus reducing the plant's annual operating expense.
