Criminal Investigation Division

About the Criminal Investigation Division
The Criminal Investigation Division is made up of 10 investigators and two secretaries. This team is dedicated to investigating all felony crimes and misdemeanors of a high and aggravated nature and apprehending the perpetrators. If you are a victim of a crime and have a question about your case, please contact the Criminal Investigation Division at (912) 368-8215.

Incident reports are reviewed each day, and cases requiring follow-up are assigned to an investigator. The investigator will then contact the crime victim and conduct the appropriate follow-up investigation. This agency works with all local, state, federal and military agencies, using every available resource to solve the crime. Once a felony case is solved and an arrest is made, the case is sent to the Atlantic Judicial Circuit District Attorney's Office for prosecution in the Liberty County Superior Court System. Misdemeanor cases are referred to the Liberty County State Court for prosecution. The Division is also tasked with the regulation of local pawnshops.
