State law requires that every local government publish within six months of the close of each fiscal year a complete set of audited financial statements. To fulfill that requirement, the City’s Finance Department prepares its City’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The City of Hinesville’s CAFR reports the financial position and activities of the City. With the CAFR, we aim to provide information that enables the reader to gain understanding of the City’s financial affairs.
For the past eleven years, the City’s CAFR was awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA). The certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition for excellence in state and local government financial reporting.
