Business licenses are permits issued by local municipalities authorizing individuals or companies to conduct business within that government's jurisdiction. Business license requirements are based on location and the nature of business. Federal Tax / Employer Identification Numbers (FEIN) are issued through the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) at (800) 829-1040. A State Tax / Employer Identification Number and Wholesaler's Registration Numbers are issued through the Georgia Department of Revenue at (404) 417-4477 or from their website.
