Azalea Street Redevelopment Project


The Azalea Street Redevelopment Project was implemented due to the deteriorating condition of the Azalea Street neighborhood. It was made possible by the City of Hinesville with assistance from the U.S. Housing Urban Development Agency and the Department of Community Affairs (DCA). Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program


The City of Hinesville has obtained grant monies to fund the Owner-Occupied Rehabilitation Program. The Program is available through both the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME). Eligible beneficiaries can receive forgivable-loan assistance to address primary health and safety issues within their home. Please contact the Grants Administration Office for more information.

Operated by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, HomeSafe Georgia provides temporary mortgage assistance for homeowners who are unemployed or underemployed through no fault of their own. 

Georgia Dream Homeownership Program


The Georgia Dream Homeownership Program is made possible via the Georgia Department of Community Affairs. The initiative offers mortgage financing and down payment assistance for eligible home buyers. Loans are 30-year, fixed interest rate mortgages. Local lenders give credit approval for FHA, USDA-RD, VA, or conventional uninsured mortgage loans.
